Holding teachers accountable

Interesting article in this weekend’s New York Times Sunday Magazine about a story run in the LA Times about the LA school system and how the analysis of teacher “productivity” is causing some conversation about evaluating teachers performances and how to hold them accountable.

Something needs to be done.  There is no reason why a job as important as a teacher’s should not include evaluation of progress.  It’s important to make sure the evaluation is fair but it should happen nonetheless.
