Just musing on the reports of so many people seeking out and watching the first-person video of the Virginia shooting. My opinion is they should show that video on all major US television outlets. I get the cries of “it’s disrespectful of the people killed!”. I also think it would be a sobering view of just what gun violence is and maybe change some people’s attitudes about gun control.
It looked nothing like what you see on TV dramas or in the movies. You know that these are real people in the middle of their jobs and they’re gunned down. Completely senseless violence that most likely would not have happened if the murderer didn’t have easy access to a weapon (and yes I know he purchased it legally).
It is way past time that we confront this nonsense head on but nobody in Congress has the balls to do so.
