AMGEN Tour of California app is very good. Well thought-out to get to race info quickly and even better free, live video when NBCSN coverage goes over their allotted time every day and cuts to their paid app once the race is complete. Some of us do want to see the awards and standings.
Going to try a new journaling method. Going to try jotting down stuff 3 times a day, morning, mid-day, and evening. Part of my issue is that I never remember what happened during the day. Maybe more accurate to say I’m not sitting down and taking the time to recall what happened during the day.Continue reading
Today’s entry in The Daily Stoic is about how Stoicism is a journey, not an end. Very fitting. I want to aspire to be the perfect Stoic but that is impossible. Better to try and be better a bit every day. So inspired by what Epictetus said: If you don’t wish to be a hot-head,Continue reading “The Daily Stoic – 05/17/2019”
Have never had a tick on me before but there is a first time for everything. Went for a walk today at lunch around and through the prairie reserve. Data backed up. Mac erased. Fresh start with the intent to use it for what it is, a tool, and not let it run my life. Will be very cautious to what I allow on there.
Fascinating article on caffeine. I had no idea that a 16oz “grande” coffee at Starbucks had so much caff in it (and the 330 they list is probably an avg). Explains a lot of the things going on for me though.
Take nothing for granted. Don’t waste a moment feeling like you don’t have enough or comparing yourself to other people. Avoid the temptation to conflate your self-worth with your net-worth or your identity with your place in society. Because all of this is temporary. All of this is dependent on Fortune. from The Daily StoicContinue reading
I’m doing an anti-pattern on privacy for the this month, going full Google with email and browser. People who go to ProtonMail for privacy make me giggle given that over 1 billion people a month are using Gmail. Unless you’re just emailing other people using ProtonMail your email is being “scanned” by Google. Silly people.
